Jason Smith - President, 103rd Grey Cup Festival
As VP of Entertainment & Events for the Winnipeg Football Club, and President of the 103rd Grey Cup Festival, Jason oversees the events at Investors Group Field as well as all aspects of the upcoming 103rd Grey Cup Festival in Winnipeg. Prior to this, Jason held the position of Manager, Music Programs at Manitoba Film & Music, where he managed the recording, marketing, touring, and out-of-province funding programs. Jason has previously worked in several positions within the local, national and international music and event industries, including as the Managing Director of The 2014 JUNO Awards in Winnipeg. He has 14 years' experience as co-owner and operator of Smallman Records & Artist Management and over 25 years’ experience as a production manager with Paquin Entertainment, an event manager of Edgefest, a local promoter rep for The Union, Live Nation concerts, Much Music, and the Music West Festival; and as a musician for five years as lead guitar, vocals, and manager with the band Twelve Eyes. Passionate about growing Manitoba’s music industry, Jason currently sits on the executive board of Manitoba Music and the boards of the Western Canadian Music Awards and the Manitoba Arts Council.
Cheryl Grewar – Chief Financial Officer, 103rd Grey Cup Festival
Cheryl joined the 103rd Grey Cup Festival with over 20 years of financial experience, 10 of which have been at the CFO level. Cheryl served as CFO for Mondrian Canada before taking the role as CFO for Frantic Films gaining extensive experience in accounting, auditing, strategic management, and operations. She is responsible for the financial management of the 103rd Grey Cup Festival, including budgeting, reporting and all aspects of accounting.
Andrea Burgoyne - Festival Events and Operations Manager, 103rd Grey Cup Festival
Andrea has worked in the festival and music industry in various roles over the past ten years. She has had the pleasure of working with many organizations including the Banff Centre, Yukon Arts Centre, Yukon’s Culture at 2010 Olympic project, Frostbite Music Festival, Arctic Winter Games, JUNOfest, BreakOut West and most recently the Winnipeg Folk Festival, one of North America’s premier outdoor music events, and the 103rd Grey Cup Festival, one of Canada’s biggest celebrations in support of the annual Grey Cup football championship. She has sat on the board of Music Yukon, Frostbite Music Society and Yukon Government’s Arts Advisory Council, and is currently a jury member for Manitoba Film & Music, FACTOR, CARAS and BreakOut West.
Lisa-Marie Buccini – Partnership and Marketing Manager, 103rd Grey Cup Festival
Lisa-Marie joins the Grey Cup Festival with more than a decade of marketing, communications, advertising and strategic planning experience in a diverse range of industries including sport, radio and quick-service restaurants. She received a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business, with a double major in marketing and international business. Her education included spending a term in Eindhoven, Holland, studying at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. Lisa-Marie volunteered with the CFL for the 2006 Grey Cup, the last time it was held in Winnipeg, and served as the Media Chair on the Host Organizing Committee of the 2007 IIHF Women’s World Ice Hockey Women’s Hockey Championships in Winnipeg.
Breigh Kusmack - Special Events and Community Engagement Coordinator, 103rd Grey Cup Festival
Breigh is the newest member of the 103rd Grey Cup Festival team. For the past nine years, Breigh has been employed by the Government of Manitoba. She worked in the Minister of Health’s office for seven years and more recently in the Chief of Staff Office managing community engagement activities with elected officials. Her experience has led her to play leading roles in managing campaigns and special events, such as producing major conventions and planning fundraising events. She has had the pleasure of working closely with leaders from all levels of government, stakeholders and community organizations.
Amy Palmquist – Festival Events and Operations Assistant, 103rd Grey Cup Festival
Amy is a recent graduate, holding a degree in Rhetoric, Writing and Communications, complemented by a Public Relations Diploma and a Marketing Diploma from the University of Winnipeg. Prior to joining the 103rd Grey Cup Festival team, she was a Communications Intern with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, helping out with various tasks around the office including several community relations initiatives.
